UEFA Grassroots Day has been marked by the presentation of three 2010 UEFA Grassroots Awards for outstanding achievement in grassroots football.

All national football associations were asked to nominate worthy candidates, with the winners being chosen by the UEFA Executive Committee.

The gold medal denoting the best grassroots leader went to Oleksandr Kadenko (Ukraine), with silver and bronze medals destined for Ian Cashmore (Scotland) and Tapio Harittu (Finland) respectively.

The prize for best grassroots project, recognising a scheme run by an association, region or agency, was won by Open Fun Schools (Moldova/CCPA), with the Respect Campaign (England) taking silver and the Mass Football Promotion (Armenia) bronze.

The choice for the best grassroots club award was Amatar (Belarus). The silver medal was received by Budakeszi (Hungary) and the bronze by Dunboyne AFC (Republic of Ireland). UEFA will be sending the award winners T-shirts, footballs and a certificate to acknowledge their achievements.
