'Red Star' shining in Belgrade
Crvena zvezda won the Serbian league with three games to go on Tuesday night following a 1-0 success at Voždovac. Miodrag Božović's side dominated all season, securing 24 straight league wins at one stage. They have moved above Belgrade rivals Partizan on the all-time list of titles: 27-26.
"We have a great season behind us," Božović said. "Even though we had a huge advantage back in December 2015, we kept playing at the same level and I congratulate our players and supporters on this new tittle. Now we will look to finish the season in the same manner and focus on UEFA Champions League qualifying."
Vaduz do it again
Vaduz made it 18 Liechtenstein Cup victories in 19 years on Wednesday with an 11-0 defeat of Schaan, the biggest final win ever recorded in the competition. In Liechtenstein, which has no league, the cup is the only national competition, with the teams otherwise competing in Switzerland. Swiss Super League side Vaduz dominated with Mauro Andrés Caballero scoring four times; they have now won a world record 44 national cups.
